Last week, our first graders went on a Westward Expedition. They were Trail Blazers through the Appalachian mountains like Daniel Boone; they purchased the Louisiana Territory from France then paddled west on the Missouri River like Lewis and Clark to the Great Plains where they discovered new animals! They then met Sacajawea, crossed the Rocky Mountains by foot and finally reached the Pacific Ocean. Our first grade teachers are true magic makers. See our Facebook page for more pictures. #TheWoodlawnWay #OneMission #StudentSuccess

We crossed the finish line of our amazing staff appreciation week with breakfast donated from our Sebring Wendy’s. We are so thankful for their partnership! This was the perfect way to fuel up for our Goose Chase after school. Teams of teachers chased around town doing fun challenges. We ended at Sweet Frog to wrap up our amazing week. We are so thankful for our parents and community sponsors for making this a week to remember. We have #Onemission #Studentsuccess Luckily for us this rockstar staff makes celebrating them easy. #TheWoodlawnWay

Our staff has been on a great mission this year and we can’t wait to celebrate them all week. Also, shout out to a few of our staff members who found the Travelocity gnomes around campus. A few of Mrs. McHargue’s 5th grade leaders had the opportunity to attend Mr. Wright’s college science class to judge their science fair projects. Our leaders asked great questions and gave amazing feedback. After they were done, they celebrated with dinner at Caddyshack! #TheWoodlawnWay #OneMission #studentsuccess

We had an opportunity to celebrate the sometimes unsung heroes of a school…our amazing substitutes. At Woodlawn, our subs are STARS in our eyes and we loved celebrating them at Sweet Frog today! These amazing individuals answer the call to serve, often times late at night and early in the morning. They stand in the gap when our staff is away to keep our school running. Also, a huge shout out to Donna Brown, our sub puzzle master. We wouldn’t survive without her. #TheWoodlawnWay #OneMission #studentsuccess

Stories included: Goldilocks and the 3 Bears, Three Billy Goats Gruff, The Jumping Mouse, Chicken Little, Bremen Town Musicians, The Three Little Pigs, and Tug o War. Huge shoutout to some of our 5th grade Leadership Ambassadors for being our storybook characters. More pictures available on our Facebook page. #TheWoodlawnWay #OneMission #studentsuccess
